Integrated Continuous Sludge Drying & Carbonization Technology
Introduction
The integrated continuous sludge drying and carbonization technology is a core technology independently developed by Dingjiu Environment with full intellectual property rights, designed to solve the environmental problems caused by municipal sludge and various organic solid wastes in an efficient, environmentally friendly and economical way.
This technology integrates the two key stages of continuous drying and Oxygen-free carbonization (pyrolysis) of sludge/solid waste into a single integrated unit, achieving the conversion from high-moisture sludge directly to stabilized, resource-recovered biochar and clean energy.

Process Flow
Feeding & Pretreatment
Municipal sludge with a moisture content of no more than 65% (or other organic solid waste) is fed, directly or after simple pretreatment, into the integrated continuous drying and carbonization furnace through a closed conveying system.
Continuous Drying Stage
In the drying stage, the sludge is first efficiently dried using hot flue gas from pyrolysis gas combustion or an external auxiliary heat source, greatly reducing the moisture content. The water vapor generated in this process can be collected for heat supply or low-temperature power generation, while non-condensable gases are sent to the combustion furnace for high-temperature harmless treatment.
Oxygen-free Carbonization Stage
The dried sludge automatically enters the carbonization stage, where pyrolysis and carbonization take place under strictly controlled oxygen-free (or extremely low-oxygen) high-temperature conditions. Organic matter is cracked into solid biochar and gaseous pyrolysis gas.
Separation & Treatment
Biochar: The biochar formed after carbonization is discharged after being cooled by the cooling system, becoming a stable carbonized product.
Pyrolysis Gas: As a clean fuel, most of it is returned to the combustion furnace to provide a stable heat source for the drying and carbonization processes, achieving energy self-sufficiency or partial self-sufficiency.
Flue Gas Purification: The flue gas generated by the whole system is treated by a high-efficiency purification system, ensuring that pollutant emissions are far better than national standards.
