On April 22, 2025, the 56th World Earth Day, inspired by the theme "Cherish the Earth, Live in Harmony with Nature", Hunan Dingjiu Energy & Environment Technology Co., Ltd. celebrated the third anniversary of stable operation of its demonstration project built on the company's self-developed world-first "Integrated Continuous Sludge Drying and Carbonization Technology". The project has cumulatively treated over 110,000 tons of municipal sludge, reduced carbon dioxide emissions by about 14,000 tons, and achieved 100% energy self-circulation. With solid technological strength, it has delivered an impressive answer to the 20th anniversary of the concept that "Green waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".

Disruptive Technology Breaks Environmental Governance Bottlenecks

This technology breaks through the technical barriers of high energy consumption and severe secondary pollution in traditional sludge treatment. Through the integrated continuous sludge drying and carbonization system, it achieves entirely zero external energy input during the whole process, converting municipal sludge with a moisture content of about 60% after plate-and-frame dewatering into high-calorific-value biochar within 2 to 3 hours. Tests show that sulfur dioxide, dioxins and other emissions during carbonization tail gas are nearly zero, far better than national emission standards, truly realizing a closed-loop ecology of "zero pollution during processing and full utilization of end products".

The solid product after sludge carbonization is biochar, a black powder rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and trace nutrients, with a neutral pH. Due to its well-developed pore structure, it has good adsorption properties. Resource utilization pathways include as environmentally friendly fuel and as a raw material for nutrient soil.
